Owen was born!!!

I am happy to announce that pregnancy is over and Owen Scott Lloyd was born on December 29th! He was 7lbs 10 oz and 19and 3/4 inches long. The delivery went well and we got to come home after only 2 days in the hospital... pretty good for a c-section. We are now just going to lay low for a while until we both feel a little better. Here are just a couple "glamorous" hospital pictures. I will try to get some better pictures of him posted soon.

You never realize how truly miserable (and ginormous) you are until you capture it in a picture! :o) This was taken right before we left for the hospital.

A Kite?

As most three year olds are, Camryn is very excited about Christmas, and it seems like just about everywhere we go people are asking her what Santa is going to bring her for Christmas and her answer has been consistent since the first time someone asked...A kite and a candy cane. First off let me tell you I have way overbought if expectations are a kite and a candy cane... but besides that have you ever seen a kite in the winter? Now I know that here in Phoenix we have fake winters but even here they pretend it's winter and put out the seasonal hat's and mittens...but a kite?!? I'm not even sure where she got this idea...there are no kite commercials on right now and in the toys-r-us add...not a single kite! Why must I have the one child in America who doesn't look to ads and commercials for her Christmas list? What's a mom to do? I guess that is why they invented google. Any other ideas out there...run into a kite at a store lately?
p.s. No help required for the candy cane...I think I've got that one covered :0)

I'm it

I was tagged by my friend Christy and, as I understand it, I have to post the fourth picture in the fourth file of my pictures. This made me very nervous because I have a husband who loves to try and capture the most unflattering pictures of me...he thinks he's funny, but I lucked out this time and it is a picture of Cam.

This picture was taken last spring I believe. Camryn found her dad's "work shirt" as she calls it and said she was going to the ambulance with daddy to work. She always has been a daddy's girl! I now tag Shelby, Ashley, Shannon, Brooke, Jenna and anyone else who wants to play along. It is fun to see the random pictures in files so you guys are now it!...And no cheating! It has to be the fourth picture in your fourth picture file.

"Baby Lloyd?"...HELP

So I was going to take your advice Shannon, and make a poll to help us choose a name for this baby that is coming none-to-soon. I thought Scott had given me at least two names that I could work with (Owen and Brody). As I was about to publish the poll Scott said he doesn't want Brody anymore! I told him I cant do a poll with one name...so no poll. Some might see this as a good sign, after all the goal is to get the list narrowed to one name, but when I begin to refer to "my bump" as Owen he backs out and says, "that's not his name!" I am so frustrated with this. I've tried everything...we even have a book, 50,001 best baby names ever...Scott sees this book as a form of cruel and unusual punishment. So, there you are, that is what I have been going through.
This baby is going to be one of those sad stories where they are born with no name and the nurses will have to sadly write, "Baby Lloyd" on his bed in the nursery. Unknowing passersby will assume that is his first name and feel sorry for the adorable little baby who has the unfortunate name of Lloyd...a few Dumb and Dumber movie quotes and/or references will be mumbled under breath followed by snickers and they will leave. So sad, PLEASE don't let this become my reality. I am open to any suggestions...HELP US!!!!!!

Which Twilight Character are you?

This was not what I expected. I took this twilight quiz just for fun because I saw it on a friends blog and to my surprise I'm Bella. This is so shocking to me because throughout he series I found myself increasingly frustrated with Bella's indecisive and stubborn personality. I still don't believe it...this quiz is rigged!!!:)

***If you have not read the Twilight series please disregard this post

A sneak peak

So what do you think Burnham (my maiden name) or Lloyd. My opinion...Burnham all the way. He looks just like my dad's baby pictures to me. I see it in the nose, chin, and forehead. This is the first time I have gotten a 3D ultrasound picture and I just love it. It makes me so excited to see him now that I know what he looks like. 8 more weeks and I can't wait.

Happy Halloween!

This year was the first year that Camryn seems to be really "getting" holidays. Up until this point I think I have been more excited for her then she was. That definitely changed this year! Cami has been sooooo excited for Halloween. Every time we drove past some one's house that was decorated, or saw a pumpkin display in the grocery store she would get so excited and ask if it was Halloween yet. She was equally excited to dress up like Sleeping Beauty. She would tell friends, neighbors, and strangers alike that she was going to be sleeping beauty and get candy for Halloween. Needless to say she had so much fun.

Before going out to trick-or-treat Camryn and Daddy carve her first Jack-o-lantern. Cami was very excited to do this until she saw all the stringy pumpkin guts... one look at all that and Dad was on his own for the cleaning out of the pumpkin. Cam just gave instructions from a safe distance. She cracks me up... I don't know where she gets these girly girl tendencies, (note I am no where near those yucky guts either :0)

Once clean she once again love the pumpkin and takes a front row seat giving Daddy instructions on what shape to make the eyes, nose, and mouth.

The lighting of the Jack-o-lantern!

Next, we got dressed in our costumes for trick-or-treating. Camryn was Sleeping Beauty.

Mom was a speed bump, (there are limited choices when you are "rounding" to your eighth month...just 8 weeks left!!)

Cami was a pro. She love the whole concept of trick-or-treating...what kid doesn't. She was always very loud and clear with her "Trick-or-treat", "Thank you", and the occasional, "Happy Halloween Too!" One thing she is not is shy.

We hope you all had a Happy Halloween too!

26 weeks and counting

I had a doctor appointment yesterday where I had yet another ultrasound, not that I'm complaining, any excuse to see my little guy on the big screen! He is starting to look so big...as am I... that it's hard to believe we still have three more months to go! The baby looked very healthy, which is always great to hear, however I was still told to stay on bed rest... yuck! We will survive and it will all be over before I know it...at least that is what I keep telling myself :)

Happy Birthday Camryn!

Today is Camryn's third birthday. I know everyone always says that time goes by so fast, but I don't think you really know what that means until you are a mother. Camryn has brought so much joy to our lives I truly have a hard time remembering what life was like before she was born. She is growing so fast and Scott and I just laugh at all the different things she does everyday and love getting t know this little person in our lives. She is beautiful inside and out. Happy Birthday Cami. We love you!!!

Pierced Ears

This last weekend Camryn got her ears pierced! I know I've already heard...she is either too old or too young to get her ears pierced...and I win worst mother of the year award, but I have to say it really went better then I even thought it would. I tried when she was much younger, but the incompetent lady working at the Claire's in Vegas that we went to (honestly what was I thinking!) couldn't even get the dots straight with the marker, and after her fifth time trying just with the marker I decided that she was not touching my baby with anything more permanent and we left. So, after that experience it took a couple years, and a new city, to trust anyone with a piercing gun again. Lately Camryn has been really into jewelry, purses, nail polish, and make-up. She puts on every piece of jewelry she owns and calls herself a princess. She also watches me getting ready and loves when I wear jewelry. She has been saying that she wants earrings like mommy. I just don't think she realized what that really meant, but I told her she could and the next time we were at the mall the opportunity presented itself.
Cam was so excited! She was told to sit in the chair and hold the bear. It took a while for the paperwork and such so Cami ended up getting a bit bored.
Then it came...not exactly what she expected!
This literally lasted for maybe 15 seconds. Then she got a lollipop and a mirror to see her new earrings and she was all smiles!
"Look I have earrings now!"

It's a BOY!!!!!

I was once again wrong about the sex of the baby. I did the same thing with Camryn. I was so sure this baby was a girl...yet the ultra sound begs to differ. I can't say that I was disappointed though (and Scott definitely wasn't). Who wouldn't want one of each we are thrilled!! The baby looks very healthy, but I was told I have a condition called Placenta Previa...I wont go into details but it can definitely complicate this pregnancy for me. I am now on semi-bed rest, yuck! I just can't seem to ever have a normal, stress free pregnancy. I am just glad that the baby is healthy... and a BOY!

Favorite Shirt

Camryn has never really cared about what she wears. I just usually pick something out for her and she puts it on...that was until she was given this Disney shirt from Papa and Grandma Jackie. As soon as we got home from our trip and she opened it she had to put it on immediately! I thought that was so cute so I helped her change into her new shirt. It is now 3 days later and she has worn it 2 out of the 3 days...and that is only because I insisted we wash it in between. She is too funny. It is amazing to me how fast she is growing up...and forming her own opinions. Thanks for the gifts Papa and Grandma Jackie!

Our trip to the beach and the zoo

Last week Camryn and I spent five days at Carpinteria Beach with my best friend and her awesome family and we then went to the zoo with Grandma Lloyd and Steve. Camryn had a blast and I must say it was some much needed relaxation for me. The only thing that could have made it better is if Scott could have been there. Unfortunately he had to work...something about paying the bills or something dumb like that. Well, there's always next year!

"Lawn" Overdue

This is almost too embarrassing to admit but we moved here in January and just a few days ago we finally were able to cut the grass. I know that is a long time but really our front yard is all desert landscaping... so no grass there, and our back yard just has this very small patch of grass. All of which I had to nurse back to life when we moved in. Maybe I did too good of a job reviving the grass because it then started to grow out of control...and we didn't own a lawn mower. So last weekend my sweet husband bought a lawn mower on one of his few days off and cut the grass...5 times. Yeah, that's right it took 5 times going over our little patch of grass, and 4 trash bags of lawn clippings to get the job done. When he finally got all of the grass cut our lawn was all yellow and dead looking underneath. Oh well, I guess we start over with reviving the grass again, only this time we will keep it cut...you win some you lose some.

Our Fourth of July Festivities

Summer has been so busy and hectic that I have fallen behind on my blogging. Hopefully I will get back into the swing of things again...but no promises.
For the Fourth of July we went to California to see Scott's family. His dad just bought a new boat and invited us to go out on it and watch the Queen Mary fireworks. It was a lot of fun but one thing I must admit is pregnancy and a rocking boat on the ocean do not mix. I think I will enjoy it even more next year for that reason.

Happy Birthday Dallin!

Now that I live so close to Shelby I get to go to all of the birthday parties! Dallin turned 6 this week and it was fun to see him and his friends splashing around at the party. Man I wish they had things like giant inflatable water slides when I was six!

A healthy baby grape

I had my first ultrasound for #2 today and everything looks great! I am always so nervous until the first ultrasound when I can actually see the little heart beat. It was really amazing. The baby is about one inch long, which is just about right for nine weeks. The books all say, about the size of a large grape...like we all don't know how long an inch is until it is said in reference to a food item...."an inch I don't understand...Oh, now I get it, it's a grape..." whatever, but this is seriously done through at least the entire first trimester. Week 5- which is when most people find out they are pregnant they tell you, "it's about the size of a grain of rice." Then you move on to the bean, the blueberry, the kidney bean(which must be bigger then the "bean" referenced in week 6), and now in week 9 we are the proud parents of a grape. Anyways, it was very fun to see our little grape on the big screen. Scott was able to come to the appointment also and he swears he can already tell that it is a boy. The Doctor and I assured him that that was an arm or leg and we will not be able to determine gender for a couple more months, but Scott was still not convinced. :)

Dr. Papa

While we were visiting Scott's family in California Scott's dad, who Camryn calls Papa, cleaned all of our teeth. I wasn't sure how Camryn would do for her first real dental check-up and cleaning because at her pediatrician appointments she is so good for everything except when they want to look in her mouth. At that point she usually presses her lips together and locks her jaw shut, yet still manages to cry until they stop. However her cleaning went surprisingly well. Camryn loves her Papa and had no problem opening wide.
I was assisting, just like the good old days:) and Camryn had her teeth polished and no cavities where reported!
