Back to Blogging

Well...it was bound to happen...the new computer has been purchased, and I can once again resume blogging! Much has happened while I was out of the blogging world and instead of going back and getting overwhelmed with trying to "back post" I am going to just pick up here and now! What is new with the Lloyds you ask?...

Camryn has started preschool! I always knew that Camryn would love school and she does!!

Owen is getting smaller every day! No...really, Owen has learned how to crawl! Since this started he has been losing roll after roll on those thighs! I keep telling him if he doesn't slow down he is going to waist away :)
Owen is trying to attack the camera. He feels that it is his new found responsibility to inspect EVERYTHING that is on the floor...first with sight, then with touch, and finally with taste... this gives mom a lot more sweeping and vacuuming to do these days!

That is the latest in the Lloyd household. Blog will be updated more often now:)

Bad blogger :(

I have been really bad at keeping up with the blog. I would just like to say publicly that this is not my fault. I will blame this all on my wonderful husband... and with good reason too! Anyone who knows Scott knows that he has this disorder that causes him to replace any electronic device at least once every two years...if it plugs in and was purchased prior to June of 2007 then it is deemed "old and useless". Sadly there is no cure for this disorder, only to constantly replace things like perfectly good televisions, video gaming consoles, cell phones, etc... for the latest and greatest model. Now why am I telling you this you ask? What does this have to do with the fact that my blog has been sitting here, not updated in nearly 2 months? Well, unfortunately, our computer has now past it's Scott Lloyd expiration date, and he now claims he can not upload our pictures to this "old and useless" computer. So now we must wait until the bank account agrees that we can buy a new computer. I however, being the innovative girl I am, found a way to get a couple pictures to the blog. I took a few snapshots with my phone (not past expiration date) and sent them to my email! I know genius! So here are just a couple new pictures to enjoy!

Camryn got glasses! She was so excited about them too! She was so great at the eye doctor's office and loved it so much that we go to go back 3 days later when she had already managed to break her glasses. The Dr reassured me this was quite typical for a 3 year old and that the first pair never lasts through their "exploring" phase. I assured him that Camryn's "exploring" phase was done or she would be "exploring" the naughty chair for a very long time! Come on... 3 days...really?!?

Owen had to be on his first antibiotic...poor baby! :( Unfortunately this made him very "regular" if ya know what I mean. This created a few embarrassing moments for me, one of which I documented! So Owen had a major "blow out" while we were at our first stop on a long list of errands we had to run. I was tiered of being "that" mom who carries her naked baby around the store, like clothes had just slipped my mind when leaving the house that morning so I figured , "I'm at Sam's Club, they have baby clothes here! I will just dress him now and pay at the end so he is not naked through the whole store." Well when I began dressing my child in the middle of the store...what that's normal... then some people... very judgemental people I might add... figured I must be shoplifting so I had to tell the whole story to them and I decided I better just leave the tags on till check-out. Well when I got to the check out my judgmental friends were in line right behind me...coincidence or nosey Sam's Club patrol, you decide, but got the feeling they were checking up on me. So I turned to them and smiled and without saying a word I cleared a spot for Owen on the conveyor belt and laid him down for purchase. Okay, maybe not the most mature response but I thought it was funny and made them back off a bit. So I smiled took a picture and picked up my baby. :) Then I looked over at the next isle, because I felt others staring and who could it be? "Oh hi President!" that's right, my stake president and his lovely wife were standing there smiling back at me. Boy was my face red... but they thought it was funny!

Update

It's always when life seems to be running along smoothly. I was thinking, "Hay, this mother of two thing isn't so bad after all. I can totally do this. I was so smart to space my kids three years because Camryn is so independent and helpful (that is after she adjusted to little Owen and stopped trying to kill him...but that's normal right?). It is like that line in Father of the Bride II, "All those who think they have it made take one step forward. Not so fast George Banks." Only it was, "not so fast Jenny Lloyd" Because that great independence I loved so much in Camryn was about to be taken away! Let's back up...

Scott bought a trampoline, (see where this is going?)

But in order to keep it "safe" we decided to dig a big pit in this Arizona hard as cement ground and put the trampoline in it so it would be level with the ground.
So we did. The following day was Sunday, General Conference. Camryn desperately wanted to jump on the trampoline. I explained to her that we don't jump on Sundays, we are going to listen to the prophet. So we did...until in-between sessions when she convinced her dad, which is not a hard thing for her to do, to let her jump for "just a minute, during commercials" hahaha. One minute later Cam was being carried into the house by Daddy and she was inconsolable. She had landed on the trampoline with stiff legs because she was afraid she was jumping too high. Needless to say I did not see the afternoon session of conference. I saw the inside of Phoenix Children's Hospital for 5 hours! Yes, she broke it straight through, just under the left knee.:(
That was just after returning from the hospital in her new splint. The following Thursday we met with the Orthopedic Surgeon to get it casted.

Purple with glitter sparkles, of course!

What does this mean to a three-year-old...Mommy has to carry her everywhere! It's the little things you don't think about like going potty, changing activities every 5 min., taking baths, and getting dressed that leave me counting down the days till this cast comes off!

Other then that life is good! We are all moved in to the new house. Here are just a couple inside pictures that I ran across today for those of you who have been asking.

Formal Dining room

That's about it for now. I will try to keep up better with my blogging, until then have a great day and if you ever think you are having a bad hair day just remember this...
P.S. Owen is still Fat! :)

The camera has been located!!

The last few weeks have been a little hectic with moving in to the new house, but is now starting to feel like home. The boxes are finally all unpacked and I found my camera in the last box...isn't that how it always works? So I can finally put a few updated pictures of my chubba bubba. Warning...if you have not seen Owen since the last post you will want to prepare yourself mentally for a much chunkier version. :)

Check out how those cheeks hang!

This is my favorite part of a little baby...their little dimpled knuckles on their chubby little hands!

Each thigh has three rolls, though only two are pictured :)

Owen has been smiling all the time lately and he has been making all kinds of noises. He also has been very interested in his hands lately. He sucks on them, studies them, and has started grabbing little toys. He also loves his tummy time. He can already do a little push up from the waist up to see whats going on all around him. He is such a happy, sweet baby and we are really enjoying getting to know is little personality.

Camryn has been Miss Independent. I have been looking forward to this stage since she was born. She has always been so particular about everything and I would always think, "I cant wait till she can just do this herself and stop telling me what to do all the time." Is that bad for a mother to think? Well it's the truth so why not admit it. I love that she wants to do everything herself, and I love even more when she comes to me like this saying she just put her feety pajamas on all by herself. Ha Ha

This was her idea of helping mommy pack. I then explained to her that since her toys WERE already in a toyBOX that we don't need to take them all out to put in a different box. Funny, she was done being my helper at that point and hated having to put them all back!
The video is still coming of Owen...Ididn't forget I just need Scott to download the video!

Living the American Dream!

Well I never thought this day would ever come for us, but after renting for over five years, and moving nine times we are about to make our tenth, and hopefully final move...at least for a little while into our very own house. We are so excited! We started our house hunt about five months ago and have put in quite a few offers, only to see them taken by a higher bid. It was well worth the wait because it seemed like we were always settling with the other houses...whether it was the location or layout, but this house is perfect for us. It is in our favorite neighborhood that will still keep us in the ward that we love, it has room for the kids and guests...and maybe even a dog:), I LOVE the kitchen and master suite, and Scott loves his den and garage. It is the home we thought we might be able to have some day way off in the future, but due to fallen home prices we get to enjoy it with our young family. I feel very blessed. Moving day is Feb. 28, and this is one move I don't think I'll mind!:)

Go Fly A Kite

Yes Camryn did get a kite for Christmas thanks to Santa and Amazon.com, but I quickly realized that my kite problems were not over...oh no....they had only just begun! Every day since Christmas Cami has wanted to fly her kite. Three year olds don't realize that you need the weather to cooperate with you in order to play with this particular Christmas present. So, I did my best to explain to her the concept of wind and that we can tell it's windy when the trees start to move. Camryn would look out the window just waiting for the trees to move and if so much as a leaf fluttered she would run to find me yelling through the house, "THE TREES ARE MOVING, THE TREES ARE MOVING!" I would then have to stop whatever I was doing and assess the tree movement then break the news to her that it was not quite windy enough for a kite. However, prayers were answered and Arizona finally had a breezy day...I wouldn't even call it a windy day, but it was enough to get a kite in the air. :o) And, as is typical with three year olds, two minutes into the kite flying she was over it and onto splashing in a puddle instead...oh well, we still had fun. And for every minute of kite flying fun we had, we would have about five minutes of string de-knotting fun! The moral of this story... just save yourself the trouble and tell your kids Santa doesn't make kites!

Go Cardinals!!!

Anyone who knows me knows that I could care-less about watching football but this was too cute not to post. Last week was the play-off game and the Arizona Cardinals were playing... so Scott was watching with Shelby's husband Lance. Around half-time Lance and Shelby had to go so Scott was watching it by himself...so I thought. Scott had gotten Owen off the bed where he was sleeping and propped him up next to him on the couch to watch the game. Too Cute. Owen was even sporting his Cardinals outfit that the Lunts gave us at my baby shower. I think Owen slept through the better part of the second half but I am sure there will be many more games watched with his dad in his future. I love my guys!!!

2 weeks old

I can't believe how fast our little guy is growing already! This morning he just looked so much bigger to me then he did even just yesterday, I know that doesn't seem possible but it is. I am so enjoying my little Owen. I am not just saying this because it is what you are supposed to say. With Camryn I feel bad but I did not enjoy the first couple months. She was VERY fussy and just a difficult baby to figure out. From two months on she turned into a happy baby and was so much fun, so that is what I was prepared for with Owen but it is so true that every baby is different. I hate to brag but my Owen is the perfect little baby so far. He only cries if he is hungry, has a burp, or needs a diaper change. He came out happy and ready to nurse...something I thought would never happen... and he sleeps up to 5 hours a night, yes I only need to get up once. I could not ask for anything more!!! I hope this doesn't change. :o)

Here is Owen at two weeks old.... does he have his dads eyes or what!?!

I wanted to try and get a picture at this angle because this is the way a mother sees her baby when you hold them and he always just looks so cute to me...especially at this angle when he looks up at me.

I will not lie, Camryn had a bit of an adjustment to say the least but everything is getting so much better. Potty training is back on course, the binkies stopped disappearing, and she is starting to like being a big sister.
